No Boys Allowed

In our old and patchwork house, we have many un-done things. One of these is Eliza's door. Or lack of one. There are hinges on both sides of the door frame, so obviously people before us tried (and failed) to have a door work in the tiny space of her doorway. We decided to go the easy way and just not have a door. This hasn't been an issue at all until recently. Eliza has felt the need to have privacy from her brother and this has been her solution to the problem of not being able to post a "Keep Out" sign on a door.

To a seven year-old boy and his friends, a Barbie swinging in the doorway is perhaps truly horrific enough to keep them at bay!

We used a curtain and a shower rod for Whit's closet. She loved it. But the barbie idea is cute too.
