Good Things

Life can be so trying sometimes that I really notice when I have a day or two when everything just seems nice and calm and happy. I would like to be the kind of person who looks at everyday like that, but I'm not.

Yet.

I still get agitated when the piano store doesn't have the books I need RIGHT NOW.

I still can't figure out how to keep my house clean all the time and have major feelings of failure because of it.

I still can't bring myself to be nice and buy end-of-the-year presents for teachers who aren't very kind.

I still get bothered when my kids (and *ahem* husband) complain about the dinners I make.

So.

Here are some good, calm, happy things that I have noticed this week for you to peruse.

*Today one of my preschoolers complained that his parents won't let him watch 'Dispicable Me' because, as he said, "they said it's inappropriate for me". In my head I was thinking, 'good for them!' One of the other preschoolers said, "Maybe you'll get get to watch it when you're 58". Preschooler #3 said, "No, that's when you'll be DEAD."

Awesome.
(Shhhh, nobody tell Zane he's got about 7 years to go before he's DEAD)

*Speaking of my husband, he is such a good gift-giver now. (Yes, that implies that he once wasn't. We had a rough first couple of Christmases, Mother's Day, etc). He listens, pays attention and then executes. For Christmas this year he signed me up for knitting lessons at this cool shop. I went yesterday for my first class and really liked it. It helped that the girls who run the store have great taste in Pandora stations.

*If you want to feel smart, bookmark and follow this blog. It is really, really cool.

*This guy has a 1-something ERA and will pitch again tonight. It's waaaay more fun when your team is winning, isn't it?
