4th of July Journal

Downtown Emmett, Idaho

Life is good. We took a break from our massive 4th of July neighborhood BBQ tradition and I'm amazingly relaxed today because of it. My favorite potato salad is in the fridge, a gorgeous apple crisp is in the oven and Zane has Wils and Hudson at the pool. Eliza is packing her own bag for Redfish Lake and is giddy and counting down the hours until we leave for our Heaven on Earth. It is hot and my garden is thriving. Ok, the potatoes and onions are thriving. So we'll have good potato soup in September when it's not 90 degrees. Headed to our favorite ex-neighobors' for a new Independence Day barbeque tradition. Gave in and bought their soon-to-be baby boy a Yankees cap. I can't change their bad taste in baseball but every little boy needs a cap, right? Yep, life is good.

HAPPY 4th! Nothing like a good potato salad to mark the 4th!
