Utah's Dixie

Proof positive that we were in Southern Utah

Last week I was vacuuming out my car and, no kidding, I found RED DIRT on the floor under the floor mats. It made me remember that I never got around to posting any pictures from our trip to Southern Utah. Ah well, that is the story of my life right now. (You know, too %$@* busy.) I love this picture of Wilson's shoe. It says it all! Our shoes were on our front porch for a few days after we returned from our trip because they were too dirty to come in. One of my friends came by and, pointing to the pile of shoes, said, "Oh, you went to Southern Utah for Spring break?"

St. George has the coolest hang out. It's between the library and Judd's General Store. There is a huge field of manicured lawn, tables and chairs, a water feature for the kids to splash around in, and has a beautiful view of the red hills. We were in heaven. We were warm for the first time since September, and spent a lot of time in that little park soaking in the sun, playing catch, eating Cafe Rio salads and not thinking about the dump of a hotel we had to return to each night. (Don't always trust the 'star' rating system on Expedia!!)

I'm sure that the early pioneers were wondering if Brother Brigham was suffering from heat stroke when he asked them to settle the area because it gets wicked hot in the summer, surely nothing those British immigrants could have ever imagined, but give me St. George in March any day of the week.
