**The list of classes was posted at our kids' school this week. Wilson did a happy dance, Eliza burst into tears. Wilson went home to hang out with Dad, while Eliza and Mommy immediately went to the mall to make things better, emerging two hours later with the world's cutest 'first day of school' outfit.
**Yesterday Wils caught a little lizard at the river with his bare hands and had it all happy and comfy in a Mason jar ecosystem. (I had to laugh when I asked Zane how they got it home and he said, with a slight "duh" tone, that he brought it home in his pocket. Isn't that such a boy thing.) This morning I thought the little lizard looked cold, so I set him out on the porch to warm up. Not in direct sunlight, mind you, (we learned that lesson the hard way when we baked a cute little frog in our backyard because we forgot to bring the aquarium inside) So, throughout the morning I kept moving him out of the sunlight until I got flustered making lunch and...forgot. Have you ever seen a lizard that cooked inside a Mason jar? Poor Wilson. He hadn't even settled on a name yet.
**Meanwhile, we have two weeks until school starts. Clothes are ready, supplies are labled, vacations have been taken, flip flops have worn out and my Asters and Mums are blooming. What to do...
**By the way, will someone please tell Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin to stop scaring my mother-in-law? Please remind them that we live in a country where "death panels" have never existed, don't exist, and never will exist. Please remind them that Medicare is the closest to socialism we will ever come. And puhleeeze, point out to these wingnuts that the best form of patriotism is to work to unite, not divide. Sheesh. I thought everybody knew that.
**What else...Oh yeah, our friends who lived in the nicest *new-ish* house sold it and bought a fifty year-old fixer-upper. They are asking the "in retrospect, are we nuts" question, but I am here to tell them that number one, no, you're not nuts. And two, thanks for all the ideas I got from your remodel! From one fixer-upper junkie to another, you're doing great!
**The Red Sox can't pull it together, the very awesome Victor Martinez excepted, and how, oh how did the Yankees get six games ahead??
**And, last but not least, what are we going to watch this fall, now that Jon and Kate have made such a mess of things?

Cute post! Had me smiling from start to finish.
The good news: if there was ever a competition for creative ways to cook reptiles, you'd win!
Thanks friend. Tyler and I had a great laugh over your idea about posting signs by our incompleted or messed-up project sites as way of explanation for the look of things! :)
Poor Eliza! You will have to give me the details...and new cute outfits can fix anything!
And let's go Yankees! :-)
Last week Maddie got a really bad haircut and we remedied it with a shopping trip too!
Going to be brave here, so yes Glenn Beck is a big mouth, he gets paid to do that, and its nice to know that he is not my elected official. There are big mouths that rant on both sides, so its good to know that we can study both sides of issues,(there will always be those who are scared by things they hear) and choose to agree or disagree. Being a mormon and a republican doesn't mean Glenn Beck is speaking for me. We have the freedom to voice our opinions and he does that, so do many many others, but we can all choose our own path, thats one good thing we still going for us in this country.
I'm all for big-mouth ranting, as long as the one doing the yapping isn't lying and working to breed hate and fear.
And, as author of this blog, I'm officially closing this discussion. We want to keep things happy here! :)
