Wilson performed in his school's Christmas production a yesterday. He had been a little nervous, as this would involve people *looking at him*. He did very well, though, and we were very proud. There is something so great about elementary school kids singing, dancing and reciting lines in a play. It's one of the little rewards of parenthood.
Last night we got together with friends at the Hickman's annual Christmas dinner party. There is always great food and great company. I love seeing the kids a year older each time and catching up on family news. The girls made cards, the boys played computer games and the parents chatted and ate non-stop all night.

We are loving this weather. If it's going to be December and dark and cold, there might as well be six inches of snow outside. Bring it on!
As Eliza has written in big letters on her white board, 'only 13 days until Christmas!'. Each year I am so exhausted from cooking, shopping, going to school holiday events, parties and whatnot that I swear I will never do it all again. But what is better than the traditions that surround Christmas? Even all the hard work is almost fun because of what it is leading up to. But I will still take the tree down on December 26th and start shopping online for vegetable seeds...

That's why it doesn't matter what the presents are (Carly)because it's the rest of it tht is so wonderful! Wilson looks so cute I want to get in my car and drive up right now!
I wish I could have seen Wilson! Poor kid, hopefully he doesn't have to be in one of the plays when he's in 4th grade.
That BSU picture is a Ward Hooper print. I just googled "BSU Ward Hooper" and on the first page.
