Wils and I walked up the trail to Castle Rock, which we can actually see from our backyard. At one point, Wilson looked out over the valley and said, "It's cool how you think this is a really, really big chunk of the earth, but when you think about it, there are really about a hundred other chunks this big. And then when you think about Jupiter and Saturn and the Sun, there must be millions more." And then he scampered on to find more rocks to throw.

When we got toward the top of the hill we could see Eliza and her friends. I thought to myself that this is a pretty good place for a bunch of girls to spend an evening together. I wonder how many times she will hike to the top of Castle Rock before she is grown and gone.

I am so glad I didn't tell Wilson I was too busy to take a quick walk tonight. I wouldn't have shared this beautiful evening with my kids, I wouldn't have taken a few moments to silently thank my Heavenly Father for His creation, and I wouldn't have heard Wilson tell me how the best way to kill a grasshopper is to carefully blow cold air on it's face, and then, after it is stunned by the cold air, 'chuck a rock at it's head'. Those are things I'm better for having experienced!
