Michael Perry is my new favorite writer. He is from Northern Wisconsin, and writes about his time there, at work, at play and even more about the people there. I think I have a fondness for his stories because they remind me a lot of Northern Minnesota, where I spent six months of my mission. I fell in love with that area, and truly thought that as soon as my mission was over I would move there and stay for the rest of my life! Anyway, if you get a chance to read anything by him, "Population 485" is particularly good, take the opportunity to enjoy his writing.
Here is a great spot from Wisconsin Public TV that he does called The Clodhopper Report

I could listen to him talk all day but why oh why can I not finish that book?
I'm going to the library on Saturday. Now I'll have a new author to check out. Thanks!
