We are customers of Washington Mutual. We have been since we lived in Seattle, where it originated. I can't say we are loyal customers because the only business we have with WaMu (I hate when they call themselves that) is to deposit our meager earnings into our checking account. Also, we watch our savings account there go from $500 to $5.00. $600 and back to $8.00, and so on and so on. So this week when it failed, and was promptly scooped up by JP Morgan, my life didn't change drastically. Or at all. Then I got my weekly Snide Remarks column and felt justified in my thoughts toward this lukewarm relationship I've had. Enjoy!
