On Christmas day my baby sister Carly found out that she and Levi were expecting their first baby. I don't know if there was ever baby news that brought more joy to a family! The usual plans were talked about, nurseries, names, schedule changes...Then today Carly learned that the baby has stopped growing, and this pregnancy is not the one that will end in happiness. Never having had this experience myself, can't imagine how sad a woman must feel to go through it. I guess the only way to come out on the other end of a difficult trial is to keep an eternal perspective, and to believe that Heavenly Father knows us, and is always watching over us.
President James E. Faust said, "The Divine Shepherd has a message of hope, strength, and deliverance for all. If there were no night, we would not appreciate the day, nor could we see the stars and the vastness of the heavens. We must partake of the bitter with the sweet. There is a divine purpose in the adversitites we encouter every day. They prepare, they purge, they purify, and thus they bless."
I know that doesn't take away the hurt, but at least it can help us get through hard times. We love you Carly and Levi!
