Photo Problems

Happy Easter!
This weekend is General Conference and I am preparing for it by...getting three years worth of photos printed so I can catch up on my scrapbooking during the eight hours of sitting in front of the TV! I am great at taking pictures, good at keeping them organized and ok at putting them in an album. That was until I got a digital camera. Without rolls of spent film lying around to remind me to drop them off to be printed I am useless. Once I download a bunch of pics to the folder on my computer they are forgotten. I might pull one or two up for blogging, but getting them printed?

So I spent two hours a few nights ago uploading photos to the Wal-Mart web site. I loathe Wal-Mart on a general level (that's another post) but I have to say that their one-hour photo quality rivals Idaho Camera and is much cheaper. So 428 images and about $65 later, I have a giant envelope waiting for me at the photo counter. Before I ran out to get them I decided to make a stack of prints I already have...and discovered, to my chagrin, that I had ALREADY printed about 1/3 of the ones I just ordered. Not only that, but I had the unsettling fact that I can't figure out which photo is from which year manifest itself.

When Eliza was a baby I read a great series of books about having and rearing children. The author said that if she hadn't had different hair styles over the years she wouldn't have been able to tell which of her four babies was which in old photos. I rolled my eyes and assumed this piece of advice didn't apply me. Oh, no. While I don't have four kids to match up I do have many photos that are baffling. Especially the ones that don't really change from year to year--standing in front of the house with Easter baskets, first day of school pics, posing in front of the Christmas tree in PJs. And because I am behind the camera 100% of the time I can't use the hairstyle trick for help. So to any new mommies out there, if you think you needn't bother writing dates on your photos, get to work! And wish me luck in sorting through the last three years this weekend.

Your little children in the top right picture could kill me with their preppy cuteness!!

And good luck.

I can't believe it was only $65. I thought it would be more & you have inspired me to get going!
I'll admit too that I have to ask my kids how old they were

Here is my guess: Middle pix, oldest, top right next (in my back yard) bottom left next, bottom rt next and top left most recent. What doyou think?
