Notes from the Friday

My preschool kids drew the best pictures this week. Sometimes I feel like asking them to draw people just because I get such a kick out of their pictures. One little girl, who shall remain unnamed here, drew her "dead cat" (they don't have a cat, dead or alive). She said the dead cat lives with "her Daddy, who doesn't live with the rest of the family". (They are happily married and living together in real life). It was awesome. Another boy drew his mother's super-long hair, only he drew it horizontally instead of vertically, so it looked like the sky was growing out of her head (it was blue). Why don't I own a scanner? This is the perfect place to link to this, and this: (My two favorite preschool pictures. Ever.)

I'm still bothered about the fact that when I was in the temple a few days ago, 'Pump It' by the Black-Eyed Peas was running through my head. It was awful! Maybe I shouldn't go to the gym right before I go to the temple.

I need to give my chiropractor a shout-out. I had a pinched nerve in my neck this week and walked around feeling like this. I went to him today and he worked his magic, which always seems a little odd, that I allow someone to perform a move on me that is probably not unlike the way a Green Beret might silently take out a rogue dictator in a third-world country. But my chiropractor is the most mild-mannered man (he told me today about his new hobby that has "completely consumed him"--bird watching!), so I'm ok. And my neck feels much better, thank you!

I am a chronic procrastinator. I work well under pressure. I used to begin papers in school the night before they were due. My friend Melissa is driving up from Utah to visit for the weekend and she's probably about in Burley right now. I am writing when I still need to change sheets, clean bathrooms and mop the kitchen floor. I like to think that it is my practical side that is saying, "Why do all that work when it might be for nothing?" Maybe Melissa will realize halfway here that she has to teach a class on Sunday and she'll turn around? I would have worked and sweated when I could have been performing much more meaningful tasks or researching important information on the internet. I'm not one of those ladies who lives to have an immaculate home. Nope. Not me.

I'll always be in debt to you for providing Taytem with means to bring that cherished piece of artwork into our home! :)

It was me in the store, wasn't it? Thankfully I really needed that b-day card, so I totally tuned Lila out...

and...that picture is hysterical no matter how many times I see it. Taytem is a genius. She put a whole new spin on "ho ho ho"...

I know I said it before, but what kind of holiday traditions go on in the Tanner home, Ryck?
