What a fun weekend we had. Ryan came to visit on Thursday night and from my kids' anticipation you would have thought we were deeply devout Catholics and that Ry Guy was the Pope. He is taller than I am now and is falling hard for BSU football. Good man, Ryan!
Zane has been in Sun Valley since Thursday (gee, I wonder why he claimed the hospital account up there as his own...hmmm, mountain biking and skiing, anyone?) so I took the kids up to visit on Saturday. We spent lots of time in the hotel pool and wandering the streets of Hailey and Ketchum enjoying the snow. I think that when it comes time for me to retire, I won't be heading to Arizona or Florida--I will be making my home at about 6000 ft where it snows a lot.
It was as cold as it looks
Wils is serious about shopping
I need to declare my gratitude for having children who are great on road trips. Their behavior in the car has never been an issue when deciding whether or not to take a trip. They are great. Eliza said, as we were leaving Hailey, that her goal was to read her book until we got home (and she did). Wilson's goal was to play with his new, tiny Lego guy until we got home. He made it until about 30 minutes away before his silly alter-ego, "Old Man" sometimes also known as "Old Grandpa" made an appearance. This is what it sounded like in our car with Old Man and a Beatles CD blasting:
Eliza, Ringo and me: "Weee all live in a yellow submarine"
Old Man: "What's that, sonny?
Eliza, Ringo and me: "Yellow submarine"
Eliza, Ringo and me: "Yellow submarine"
Old Man: "Speak up!"
Eliza, Ringo and me: "Yellow submarine"
Etc. etc.
Anyway, thank goodness for little appreciations like that. Also, I surprised myself by realizing that I know every single lyric to The Beatles' 'Red Album'. Must be that phase I went through when I was 14.
Cool old house we explored near Hill City, Idaho.

Oh! We'll have to get you to come over and do vocals on Beatles Rock Band on the Wii!
I am the same way I would absolutely love to live in Northern Idaho or Montana, if only oilfield work was in desirable living areas, forget the sun, give me the skiing and mtns too.
